Mahlo GmbH & Co. KG

Well-established Bavarian firm Mahlo uses HOERBIGER high tech and actuators to ensure that everything is lined up for premium quality textiles. Manufacturing web distortion correction machines solely at its German headquarters in Saal on the Danube in Lower Bavaria, Mahlo is the world market leader and has approximately 250 employees, 220 in Saal alone.

Mahlo’s top-of-the-line weft straighteners are equipped with advanced servo-hydraulic actuators made by HOERBIGER, known by the designation ServoAX. ServoAX consumes as much as 50 percent less energy than existing systems that coordinate multiple actuators via a large central motor/pump unit and a valve system. The servo motors allow the speed to be adjusted and the power-on-demand principle to be used. As a result, the system only consumes power when it is operating.

The decentralized servo-hydraulic actuator unit is the first product to combine power unit, pump, servo motor, drive, controller, hydraulic accumulator, valves, and actuator in one compact system. HOERBIGER supports the company by shipping the ServoAX units according to the plug-and-play principle. The units are already suitably preassembled, tested, and bled.
