Reducing pressure fluctuations

For subsequent sealing rings

  • Long service life
  • Good sealing function at differential pressures over 20 bar
  • Materials for any application

Pressure breakers are required for differential pressures over 20 bar in order to minimize the load on the main packing seals and prevent dirt from entering the packing. Their applications range from technical gases to the process industry to air compressors for PET blow molding and industrial air generation.

The pressure breakers restrict the gas flowing from the cylinder to the packing through gaps acting as throttles (single-acting) or, during the intake cycle, also from the packing to the cylinder (double-acting). They are typically required at a differential pressure of above 20 bar. Pressure breakers are made of cast iron, bronze, PTFE, PEEK and other high-strength polymer materials.

Version Depending on the application, single-acting or double-acting; up to two cups of the pressure packings can be retrofitted with pressure breakers if high pressures are encountered
