Powerful, simple, singularly reliable
In 2013, the Strategic Business Unit Automation Technology generated sales of 59.4 million euros, an increase of 4.6 percent over the previous year’s sales of 56.8 million euros.
With the goal to set itself apart from the competition with components and systems that combine performance, simplicity, energy efficiency and reliability, the Strategic Business Unit Automation Technology realigned itself in 2010. And it did do so in three Business Segments:
■ Industrial Machinery
Smart electrofluidic actuators for the general machinery market
■ Valve Automation
Smart electrofluidic actuators for the oil, gas, and process industries, for the energy sector, and for the water and wastewater industry
■ Multi Market
Modular solutions for demanding customer applications in mechanical and equipment engineering
Starting from a strong market position for hydraulic components used in press brakes, for piezo actuators, and for microhydraulic solutions used in a wide variety of industrial applications, HOERBIGER has pursued a new development approach in the innovations developed since then: the symbiotic blend of hydraulics, mechanics and electronics. The objective is to develop powerful, simple and reliable actuators.
The intelligent combination of function, comfort and reliability—that is the challenge behind the goal of carefully crafted actuator technology.
Compact Motion Technology and Valve Automation
In January 2014, the Strategic Business Unit Automation Technology merged the existing Business Segments Industrial Machinery and Multi Market to form the new Compact Motion Technology Business Segment. The objective is to support all the customers from the mechanical engineering industry—covering everything from machine tools to medical technology—with a strong engineering, sales and marketing organization that is managed according to uniform processes.
As of January 2014, the Valve Automation Business Segment, which in German-speaking countries was previously known by its German language title, will use the English designation internationally.
