In reciprocating compressors, rider rings guide the piston in the cylinder bore. HOERBIGER manufactures them from materials that are specifically developed for the respective application.

In conjunction with a construction that is designed with the particular use in mind, this results in a long service life, even with wet and dry gases, at all molar weights of gases, and with contaminated or corrosive gases.
HOERBIGER rider rings are suitable for use in lubricated and non-lubricated reciprocating compressors at average piston speeds of up to 6 m/s, maximum operating pressures of 500 bar, and operating temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).
