International Trainee Program

After earning your degree, would you like to gain some insight into different functions and an excellent overview of our company? Then the International Trainee Program of HOERBIGER is right for you.

Through our Trainee Program, we pave the way for you to experience new opportunities of personal and professional development and to quickly advance to responsible positions. You will become qualified for demanding tasks within your specialty and gain an outstanding overview of the company structures and activities as well as deeper insight into corporate topics.

Over the course of the program lasting approximately 24 months, you will complete approximately four project assignments in different Strategic Business Units, one of which will be at a location outside of your hiring country. During the program modules, you will assume responsibility for both operational and project-specific topics.

Moreover, you will participate in continuing education programs with technical, personal and methodological orientation, get to know senior managers from different departments, and develop an extensive international network at various levels.

Upon successful completion of the International Trainee Program, you will assume a responsible position within your specialty.

Candidate profile:

  • Candidates will have obtained a degree in the respective discipline (depending on the job description of the Trainee position) or are about to graduate. Over the course of their studies, candidates will have gained practical experience in an industrial, perhaps even international environment.
  • Ideally, while attending university, candidates have already had the opportunity to be involved in topics that are relevant for their selected specialty (through internships, key study areas or a scientific paper).
  • Candidates are available for worldwide travel and want to gain international experience.
  • Candidates will have high standards when it comes to the quality of their work and approach topics constructively, well-organized and reliably.
  • In addition, candidates are able to grasp issues quickly and have a pronounced analytical understanding.
  • Candidates will have a good command of the English language.
  • Candidates speak the language of the country in which the position for which they apply is located and have a valid work permit for the respective country.

Trainee Program Outline

For the International Trainee Program, you will be hired locally for a defined Trainee position in a Strategic Business Unit and a country in which HOERBIGER is represented.

During the first module of the International Trainee Program, you will get to know your Strategic Business Unit, key procedures and processes, important stakeholders and contact persons. You will become integrated in the organization of the hiring country and build your local network. Duties that challenge and encourage you in your development will be coordinated with you.

During the second module, you will work in an organization that is located outside of your hiring country. You will get to know the procedures and processes of the same Business Unit in a different country and contribute your initial experience from your hiring country. You will establish international contacts and deploy them as part of your assigned duties.

During the third module, you will change Business Units to get to know similar activities and functions in a different context, with different products. This will allow you to create a network across Business Units and you will better understand the interrelations within HOERBIGER.

During the fourth module, you will become increasingly integrated in the work flow of your target position ('integration phase') to be able to gradually assume greater responsibility and be ready for your target position after successfully completing the Trainee Program.

At the end of each module, you will prepare a presentation on your area of responsibility, in which you can demonstrate your performance.

Your  "Trainee Mentor" and Corporate HR will offer continuous assistance and support. Naturally, you will regularly exchange experiences with your colleagues in the Trainee Program. You also should not miss attending our "Meet the CEO Event" as part of the Trainee Program!
