GGEC - Generic Gas Engine Controller
The Generic Gas Engine Controller is intended primarily for the OEM market and is a master for a complete engine management system with all necessary actuator and sensor interfaces. It is built of the same building blocks as the AEC and in addition equipped to drive actuators and read sensors.
The GGEC can control and drive all real time tasks on the engine. The system architecture is partitioned for scalability and divided into two levels consisting of an engine and a cylinder level. Separate HW for the engine level and groups of cylinders provides the desired flexibility. The solution features an ignition system with ion-sense technology for detection of knock and misfire as well as estimation of peak pressure location (combustion phasing) and air to fuel ratio (combustion rate) for cylinder balancing.
The GGEC is built to target large stationary lean burn gas engines. It serves as the master controller for all I/O:s on the engine and can be supported by a PLC as the system backbone. The software is developed in a model based development environment and the code is auto generated. As a consequence the solution is extremely flexible in terms of customer adaptations and provides the ideal platform for the OEM to implement proprietary control software.
