Double-clutch systems
In the passenger car segment, a HOERBIGER double clutch is already in series production for sports cars with 750 Newton meters of torque. The improvement in shifting performance, while simultaneously decreasing fuel consumption, is setting a new standard for the drive train of passenger cars.
HOERBIGER has successfully applied the know-how gained in the passenger car sector to the field of trucks. The double-clutch system for commercial vehicles designed by HOERBIGER Drive Technology exhibits the same advantages as the variant for passenger cars: It also provides greater shifting performance, while lowering fuel consumption at the same time.
In an effort to enable the energy-saving use of additional components in trucks, HOERBIGER is working on clutch systems that in the future will allow additional components, such as brake compressors, to be engaged and disengaged from the vehicle engine, as needed. As a result, the overall power demand on the engine is reduced, and fuel consumption is accordingly lower.
